A few of the more outstanding historic aircraft at the museum is the original Air Force One jet, the supersonic Concorde, the Mac 3 Blackbird, one of two Douglas DC-2s, the only surviving Boeing 80A, a Caproni Ca.20, the world’s first fighter plane from World War I. Take a wild aerobatic flight in the X-Pilot motion simulator and never forget the experience. Also, explore the original Boeing Aircraft factory where the first Boeing was built by Bill Boeing. Learn amazing stories of courage as detailed by 28 WWI and WWII aircraft fighters.
Visit the 3-acre Aviation Pavilion,with a cafe, a unique open-air gallery which offers the dramatic development of large aircraft. Explore the new Charles Simonyi Space Gallery, 4-stories high, where NASA trains every space shuttle astronaut. See also the library dedicated to aviation that is open to the public, and a children’s playground. The museum also maintains a restoration facility at Paine Field in Everett where historic planes are conserved. More than 500,000 visitors from all over the world come to the museum every year.
